Female AESIR who have distinguished themselves in battle can be elevated to Odin's honor guard, the VALKYRIE. They ride anti-gravity “jet-bikes” and wield powerful plasma lances. All VALKYRIE received at least basic medical training, and some learn the arts of Destructive Uploading, to preserve the Battle Lore of the AESIR by creating EINHERJAR.

In battle the VALKYRIE are often used to out flank an enemy force, or tie up reserve forces to prevent them from offering relief to weary front-line units. VALKYRIE starships use similar tactics in space battles. In hospices and at Valhalla, VALKYRIE act as doctors and nurses, often tending a single soldier from his initial arrival to his eventual departure or upload as an EINHERJAR. Their sense of duty is unmatched.

Many have made the mistake of diriding them as “cup-bearers” or witches, and learned a hard lesson as a result.

The VALKYRIE are led by Svava, a bright-haired warrior who once dwelt in Midgard.
