====== Pia, Street Rat and Interplanetary Stowaway ======
Born to a life of desperate poverty on the streets of the
metropolis-world, Phoebe, Pia's early life was spent scraping
together a living by scavenging, a little light pick-pocketing,
and - as she grew older - trading in black-market oddments and
trinkets brought in by sailors docking in the spaceport. At
14, she happened to pick the wrong pocket and - in her flight
from the all-seeing eyes of the security cameras that dominated
her world and would now be able to identify her wherever she
went in Phoebe - took refuge in the hull of a passing merchant
ship. By and by, the ship flew to Docharin, its stow-away passenger
undiscovered. Pia has since had many adventures in the Empire Worlds
and beyond - and she'll tell of them, given half a chance.
